There is a World of Cinema out there to be explored, and that the best way to
travel this world is through a tourist guide.
A/Zeta. Guía al mundo del cine (A/Z. Movie Guide) is a book that enables you to explore the world of cinema in one complete guide promoting the interest in film history, worldwide cinema and contemporary film.
We want to promote a sense of exploration and curiosity among readers. Help
them discover a world that offers limitless options for cinephiles as well as
people interest to delve into this fascinating world.
Following the parameters behind the production of a movie, our book was created thanks to the collaboration and help of many people. More than 120 artists of 26 countries collaborate by given alternative movie posters to illustrate the book.
After a successful 50 days crowd funding campaign (120%), we raised the
money that allowed us to print the book.
Video rental stores are disappearing. The place where people used to meet and
talk about cinema is something of the past, along with the video clerk who always advice and recommend which movie to watch and why. Those where the doors to the World of Cinema, and they are closing.
The lack of video stores made us creates a “video store” in paper. The goal is to
honor the role of the video store Clerk and in doing so, foster a sense of curiosity and exploration within the reader. Make reader’s fill free to choose whatever movie they want to see as well as respect others people taste.
More than 1700 films from around the world (88 countries) and the history of
cinema have been selected ranging from 1902 to 2013.
600 of the listed films contain reviews, providing readers with guidance and
reasons to watch a movie
There’s also an independent list of the movies that have won awards at top film festivals (Belin, Cannes, Venecia) and award ceremonies (BAFTA, Cesar, Oscar). Feature more than 150 alternative movie posters from 124 artists of 26 countries.
The book is designed to be visually appealing and original, in order to stimulate a
sense of exploration and curiosity within the reader.
We create 4 ways of navigating the book: alphabetically, by personal taste, by movie award and general film appreciation.
The book is in Spanish, but we designed it in such a way that everybody no matter the language can use it. As a guide works great, and is fully illustrated with amazing Alternative Movie Posters.
